Eligibility
The Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) can register sport related projects with the following non-profit organisations:
Clubs – any club which satisfies the ASF criteria of being non-profit, incorporated and financially viable. Clubs can be rural or urban, sporting or non-sporting and be from any Australian state or territory. Our project statistics show that generally clubs register equipment or facility development projects. ASF case studies profile some typical club projects. A club applying to register a project will need club supporting documentation.
Sporting organisations – the ASF can register projects with a variety of sporting organisations including regional, state and national bodies and whose responsibilities include grass roots and/or elite sport. Our project statistics indicate that regional sporting organisations typically register equipment or facility development projects while state and national bodies register sport development, team travel and hosting a major sporting event type projects. ASF case studies profile organisations with typical projects. Supporting documentation will need to be included with all project applications.
Schools – the ASF can form partnerships with both government and independent schools to assist with their fundraising efforts for projects. Depending on the school structure, projects can be registered with either the school or an incorporated committee of the school. Project types most often registered by schools are equipment or facility development projects.The ASF case studies page profiles a school project. A school or school committee will need supporting documentation for their application.
Councils – rural and metropolitan councils and other government agencies are able to establish ASF projects to assist with their fundraising. Councils almost exclusively register facility development projects but may register any other project type. A typical council project can be viewed in our case studies. Supporting documentation is required for council applications.
Community groups – community based organisations including community and church groups are eligible to apply to register an ASF project. Projects must have a sporting focus and our project statistics show typical community group projects fall into the sport development or sport facility development categories. Other organisations – other non-profit, incorporated organisations (such as trusts & foundations) can register projects with the ASF. Organisations should contact the ASF to discuss their project and application documentation prior to lodgement.
